Meet The Staff
Kim was first licensed as a foster parent in 2011 and has adopted three children. Her oldest son, who is now 18, came into her family as a five-year-old; after providing respite and foster care, she adopted him at age seven. Her 10-year-old twins were a direct adoption and have been part of her family since birth.
Kim has a beautiful history of serving children and families in need in her personal and professional life. While her bachelor's degree is in Criminal Justice, her work with unhoused families and women overcoming substance use addiction led her down a different path. She spent 15 years working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and has worked for a state-wide virtual school for the last four years. Having served as a Navigator previously, she felt called back to the work and joined the Family Bound team in 2024 to continue supporting families on their journey through foster care and adoption.
She has learned so much in her years as a foster and adoptive parent and believes the support and empathy of understanding community members is a great key to success. Kim is looking forward to empowering foster parents to embrace their unique path as they begin the foster and adoption process.
Her favorite activities to do with her children are watching movies, playing games, fishing, and cheering them on at their baseball and basketball games. In her spare time, Kim likes gardening, reading, running a thrift store booth and listening to True Crime podcasts.
