Resources

This guide was compiled by the Foster Care Navigator Program team for use by foster parents, agencies, youth in foster care and anyone who supports families and children in the child welfare system in Michigan. As foster parents, we recognize that there are many valuable resources and supports available in Michigan for children and families which enable us to provide the opportunities that all children in our care deserve. We also know that these resources are often underutilized because we are unaware of them.

The Michigan Foster Parent Resource Guide was developed to “get the word out” about ways that non-profit organizations, educational institutions, faith communities, concerned citizens and government agencies are coming together to support children and families in the child welfare system.

We also recognize that this list may not be comprehensive and we are discovering new resources every day. Please feel free to suggest additions to this list or to ask about any of the resources listed by contacting us. The Foster Care Navigator Program team can be reached at 1-855-MICHKIDS (642-4543). Also, please “friend” us on Facebook for more resources and up-to-date information.

Thank you for your commitment to Michigan’s children.

Sincerely,
The Foster Care Navigator Program Team
